Sharing your guest’s comments on your website can help give potential guests the reassurance they need to choose you when booking their next stay.
When you see a fantastic guest comment that you think will make excellent social proof you can use the Publish feature to post it straight from GuestRevu to your website.
NOTE: If you want to share guest comments from your surveys, make sure you ask guests for permission first. We recommend including a question like: “Do we have permission to share your comments on social media and/or our website?”
What is the Publish Button for?
The publish button on the feedback and reviews section is used to send specific reviews to your website through the WordPress Plugin or a custom API integration.
You will need to have the GuestRevu WordPress Plugin on your website in order for the reviews to be published. If you don’t use WordPress, you can also use our API to publish the reviews onto your website. To find out more on how to set this up, contact the Support Team.
Why would I put reviews on my website?
This is a great way to show transparency in your brand and will help prevent guests who have landed on your website from leaving to look at online review sites. If potential guests are landing on your website you want to convert them to a direct booking as quickly as possible.
How do I know which guest comments I am allowed to Publish?
You will not need guests' permission to share online reviews, as they are already publicly available.
If you want to share comments from your surveys, the best way is to include a question asking guests for their consent. We recommend this question: “Do we have permission to share your comments on social media and/or our website?” To see which guests have given permission, use your Advanced filters and then go to the comment section in the Comprehensive report.
How can I see which reviews have been published?
- In the main menu on the left, click on Reviews
- Click on the Publish filter and select Published from the dropdown menu
- Click Apply to set the filter
- The Publish filter will now be red and you will only see feedback that you have published. Click the Reset button to clear the filter
-
When in list view you will also see a tick in the “Published” column (shown with the cloud symbol) for reviews you have published
How do I unpublish reviews?
- Go into the review you'd like to unpublish
- Click Unpublish
What does the WordPress Plugin look like on my website?
The Wordpress plugin has been carefully developed to conform to the styles you have chosen for your own website, so the way it looks will depend on the theme you are using. You can also get your own developers to customise the design even further
