This article will explain how to give GuestRevu permission to access your Google reviews so that they can be pulled into your GuestRevu account.
Before you begin:
- Make sure that you’re logged into Google My Business in another tab
- You need to be an Admin User for the relevant Google Page to give GuestRevu access
- Log in to your GuestRevu account at https://my.guestrevuapp.com
- If you have multiple properties, select the property that you would like to authorise GuestRevu for
- Click on Account > Account Preferences in the menu on the left-hand side of your dashboard, then on the Google Authorisation tab, and then click on the button that says Authorise Google Account. Please note that the Google Authorisation tab may take a few moments to load
- A new window will open that asks you to select your Google Account details. Choose the Google account linked to your business account
- Grant “guestrevuapp.com” permission by selecting Continue
- The page will then refresh, taking you back to the Email Configuration tab under Account Preferences. You will need to return to the Google Authorisation tab. Under the Google Authorisation tab, confirmation will show that Google has now been authorised.
- To complete the process, you now need to select your business account and location
- Confirm your choices by selecting Allow
- Click Authorise
Note: Please allow some time for your Google reviews to be recollected via the API and become visible in your account. As soon as the reviews are recollected you will be able to respond directly through GuestRevu.
Writing a Google Management Response from within GuestRevu
Thanks to GuestRevu’s integration with Google Reviews, you can respond to Google Reviews without having to leave your dashboard. This makes the process of replying faster, and ensures details of all management responses are logged in GuestRevu.
Select the Google review you want to respond to, then click the small blue arrow next to the Google review.
Note: A white tick box indicates that you have already responded to the review
Or click on the guest name to open the profile and click the Respond at Source button
A new screen will appear in which you will see the Message box where you can write your response on the left. The guests review score and review will be on the right.
Once you have written your management response in the “message text” box, click Send. This will automatically push your management response to your Google My Business listing
Tip: Personalisation can show you really care about guests - Use the translate button to send the management response to Google in the guest’s prefered language.
How do I view my management response?
Your Management response can be seen on the Communications tab by viewing the Review either in QuickView or Go To Review options under the Actions menu on the right-hand side.
Can I edit/delete my management response once it has been published?
Yes, you can.
- Go to the guest that you want to edit click on the tick in the management response column next to the review
- The management response window will open
- Click Delete to remove the management response
- Or edit your management response and click publish this will update the management response

How to deauthorise GuestRevu from your Google My Business account
- Log in to your GuestRevu account at https://my.guestrevuapp.com
- Select the property that you would like to deauthorise GuestRevu for
- Click on Account Preferences in the menu on the left-hand side of the dashboard, then on the Google Authorisation tab, and then click on the button that says De-Authorise Google.
After you have deauthorised Google from your GuestRevu application, you will need to do the same in your Google My Business account.
- Go to “User profile” on Google in the top right corner of your tab.
- Select Manage your Google account (You need to be an Admin User for the relevant Google Page)
- Navigate to your Google Account and click on Security
- Navigate to Third-party applications and click on Manage third party access
- Select GuestRevu and click on Remove Access
You will now have completed the deactivation process.
